The Southern Women’s Show is in Town This Weekend!

Hey ladies! Get ready to get dolled up, shop till you drop, and have a roaring good time at the Southern Women’s Show at the Agricenter located in east Memphis on the corner of Walnut Grove Road and Germantown Parkway.

What is the Southern Women’s Show you ask? Well it’s a way to let loose and hang out with your girls where you can shop, gain creative cooking ideas and healthy lifestyle tips. There are also fashion shows, celebrity guests, and door prizes? What more could a girl ask for?

There’s so much going on, that’s it’s too much to list on a simple blog post, so you can read what’s happening for yourself! One special event planned is the birthday celebration which is celebrating 20 years of having the show in Memphis. Get excited! Of course, what would a birthday party be without party games? These include a scavenger hunt with fabulous gifts hidden around the show. Finders Keepers!

Tickets are $8.00 ea for adults in advance online and $9.00 at the Door

Retro We Go: Fashion Turnabout for Today’s Younger Men

Uh…. Older, seasoned, pro guys…. do NOT try to pull this off.

My favorite new series (relatively new, anyway) is Mad Men. Mostly for the fashion. I actually remember the days of women wearing gloves when they went out for as much as a trip to the grocery store; men wearing hats with their suits; skinny ties with monochromatic color schemes or light geometric designs. You get it.

That very retro, very cool look is back…. thank goodness! But it seems it’s only the younger, up and coming “gentlemen” that are taking hold of this fashion trend. While the older, “been there/done that/have the tshirt” crowd are bending toward a more professionally tattered, business casual look. What’s up with that?
