Visit the Odessa art space in Memphis for a display of local talent

Memphis is a big arts city, with stars like Elvis once having resided here! It should be no surprise, then, that the music scene still thrives here.  The creative spirit of Memphis where you can feel it most is in our underground arts scene.

First, there’s Odessa.  This is a not-for-profit music and arts venue that specializes in performance, installation, sound, video and more new media.  In addition to art displays, they also play host to many dance parties, pop-up shops, art shows, movie nights and live music at their tiny location in the Broad Avenue Arts District.  The Arts District is also the home of small art galleries, restaurants and studios.

For another underground arts experience, you can visit Five in One (VINI), where you will find a gallery space, music venue and shop for selling handmade jewelry, posters and screen-printed t-shirts made by the two owners and occupants.

For information on other Memphis hot spots like the Hattiloo Theatre, Zora’s, the Evergreen Theatre and TheatreWorks, visit the site linked here.  Have fun exploring Memphis’ arts scene, Memphis residents and visitors!
