Summertime: Check out the Orpheum Summer Movie Series

Events in Memphis at the Orpheum Theatre are only a short drive from your Madison Humphreys Center apartment. With the outstanding line up of cults, classics and concerts to choose from, you can enjoy a classic movie presentation each week through September 14 in downtown Memphis.The summer line-up features everything from family flicks such as “Casper” and “The Wizard of Oz” to cult favorite “Pulp Fiction” and long-standing classics including “Gone With the Wind” and “Casablanca.”
The summer series is more than just a movie, it is an event at reasonable prices. Prior to the each film’s presentation, guests will enjoy a themed costume contests, trivia games, short clips from vintage films, mini-concert and fashion shows to start off the night.
Two of the Thursday night independent films hosted by the Memphis Cinema Social Club include an hour of socializing with live music and refreshing beverages prior to the screening. Make your plans for “Almost Famous” on August 9 and “Fargo” on August 16 for to enjoy the extra activities.
Originally built in 1870 and completely rebuilt in 1928, mark your calendar for an evening of nostalgia and classic movies in the elaborate confines of the extraordinary Orpheum Theatre.
