Making Memphis and Shelby County Safer
Operation: Safe Community (OSC) is a roadmap to make Memphis and Shelby County one of the safest communities of its size in the nation by the end of 2011 spearheaded by the Memphis Shelby Crime Commission.
They are hosting a community meeting in Memphis on the 11th of February and then are taking their message to Capitol Hill in Nashville on the 24th. One of their initiatives is to enact tougher sentencing laws for violent crimes committed with a gun and they have had several bills introduced to support this initiative.
It’s going to be held at: Jewish Community Center, 6560 Poplar Avenue from 7:00-8:30 P.M. All are welcome and encouraged to attend. Click here for more information.
