Veteran’s Day Celebrations in Memphis

Veteran's Day Celebrations in MemphisEach year we honor the military veterans who have so graciously served our country and kept us safe.  Since World War I ended in the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month, we now recognize Veterans Day on November 11th of each year.  Since elevens seem to be the theme, it only seems appropriate that we will celebrate this year’s Veterans Day on 11/11/11.

The city of Memphis is putting on several events this Veterans Day to honor those that have given their service to our country.  Check out the list below to see how you and your family can get involved this year:

  • Memphis Veteran’s Day Parade: Scheduled for Friday, November 11th at 10am.  The parade will begin from Exchange and travel down Second Street to Monroe.
  • Tipton County Veteran’s Day Parade: Also scheduled for Friday, November 11th at 10am.  This parade will take place in Covington Court Square.
  • Veteran’s Day Ceremony in Overton Park: On Friday, November 11th at 11am, the Daughters of the American Revolution have put together a ceremony to honor our veterans.
