It’s no doubt that Memphis is infamous. Period. Celebrities and regular people alike flock to Memphis to live; they want to be close to the heritage, music, and BBQ. As it turns out, Team USA goalkeeper Tim Howard – one of the best soccer goalies in the world, mind you – keeps his summer home right here!  Very cool.  After a little Googling around, I found out how he really felt about his home here…

SAM- How did you end up making your summer home in Memphis? [...]

TIM HOWARD- That’s where my wife’s from, and we don’t get a chance to spend loads of time in the states, for me its usually just a few weeks. We get to have some peace and quiet. I guess that’s just another reason to root for Team USA in the 2010 World Cup.  Their next game is this (June 18) morning at 9:00 a.m local time agains current group leader Slovenia.  You can catch on ABC or do like me and head over to the Fox and Hound Pub & Grille ( 5101 Sanderlin Ave., 7 minutes from Madison Humphrey Center) for a World Cup breakfast and to watch it on the big screen!
