Or the title could read, “Memphis on the Big Screen” depending on what kind of television you have. For those of you who have been waiting on it for a while, “Memphis Beat” premieres tonight at 10 pm on TNT.

“Memphis Beat” revolves around a quirky Memphis police detective with an intimate connection to the city, a passion for blues music and a close relationship with his mother. Did I mention he’s an Elvis impersonator? Yeah, it’s a little cliched, but we’ll see tonight whether it works or not.

I’m actually quite amazed at all things Memphis that the show tries to incorporate, such as the music, BBQ, and infamous Beale Street. It’ll be interesting to see if they pull it off.
